My job can be quite interesting at times...take my little language disordered kids. They don't have a strong grasp of the meaning and usage of words. Many times they misuse words and phrases in amusing ways. Take little Katie...
We had been reading the story Thomas' Snowsuit, it is about a little boy who does not like his snowsuit and refuses to wear it for his mom, teacher, or principal. During the story they get into fights to get Thomas into his snowsuit and the teacher ends up wearing Thomas' snowsuit, the principal is wearing the teacher's clothes and Thomas is in his underwear, etc... Anyway at the end of the story, the principal moves to Arizona because no one ever wears a snowsuit. I asked Katie, "Why did the principal move to Arizona?" She responds "Because he likes to wear girl's underwear!" Hmmm...how to respond??? She was close but neatly mixed up all the pieces of the story. It is a great book, I highly recommend it. Just be careful if you move to Arizona! HA! A day in the life...the fun never ends!
